Lost in Paradise – A Forum on Efforts to Address Homelessness in Sonoma County

Join moderator Press Democrat Editorial Page Director, Paul Gullixson along with a panel of key community stakeholders who will share insights about:
The current state of homelessness.
The impact of people who are homeless in the community.
An update of the homeless problem and how efforts are underway to address it.
Temporary, transitional and permanent housing solutions including long term building of needed homeless dedicated permanent housing as well as interim.

Items recently approved by City Council:

25mph

SPEED LIMIT REDUCED ON MORGAN STREET
Recommend by the Transportation and Public Works Department and approved by the Council, to establish a
speed limit of 25 miles per hour on Morgan Street from Third Street to Ninth Street, establish a speed limit of 25 miles per hour on Morgan Street from Ninth Street to College Avenue. This change should take place in the next 90 days.

Green Bike Lanes

GREEN PAVEMENT MARKINGS FOR BIKE LANES
Council voted to add green pavement markings to bike lanes at busy intersections with high bicycle and automobile volumes. At the present time there are no such installations around the city. In consultation with the Bike and Pedestrian Advisory Board (BPAB), the city is evaluating and considering various candidate locations to gradually install such green lanes around the city, which should benefit the cyclists by bringing more attention to potentially high conflict areas.
