JAMES CURTIS: “IN APPRECIATION OF LUTHER BURBANK”
THE NINTH STREET MURAL SKETCH, 1979

Here’s a chance to hear about the first mural that was painted on the 9th Street undercrossing (before Cal Trans removed part of it when they had to modify the undercrossing to support the expanded the freeway above). This exhibition showcases the final sketch for the mural “In Appreciation of Luther Burbank”, which was up for nearly 30 years. Referencing Luther Burbank’s botanical innovations, and our own Sonoma landscape, this mural captures a special moment in our history while it serves as a living document of a mural that was once an integral part of the Santa Rosa landscape.

Kelly Brandeburg tributes the life and career of the legendary Barbra Streisand in her highly acclaimed one woman show. Take a journey from the very beginning of Streisand’s career as a cabaret singer in New York City to her starring roles on Broadway to her critically acclaimed roles in Hollywood films. Hear Brandeburg share rare anecdotes and stories of how Barbra became the superstar she is today all while singing many of your favorite Streisand songs, including selections from Funny Girl, Yentl and her some of her greatest hits including You Don’t Bring Me Flowers, Evergreen, and The Way We Were.
