City Task Force on Open Government – Deadline Monday, Feb. 10th

Santa Rosa is seeking residents willing to serve on a new task force on open government.

Mayor Scott Bartley announced the task force in early December in response to charges by some that a “culture of secrecy” pervades City Hall. Its mission will be to compile a report assessing the “current status of open and transparent government practices” in the city, and to recommend changes for the council to consider.

In addition to the two council members, the panel will include two representatives from other city boards and commissions and seven members of the public.

The panel plans to meet on the second and fourth Thursday of each month, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., for eight months beginning March 13.

The deadline is Monday, Feb. 10 at 5 p.m. The application is posted on the city’s website: http://ci.santa-rosa.ca.us/news/Pages/OpenGovernmentTaskForce.aspx
