Neighborhood Meeting with Catholic Charities This Thursday

Purpose of Meeting: To provide updates on the
Homeless Services Center as well as addressing
any neighborhood concerns.

Address: Family Support Center – 465 A. Street

Date: Thursday, May 22
Time: 7:00pm-8:00pm

Background:

Catholic Charities runs the Family Support Center on A Street and the Homeless Service Center on Morgan Street in our neighborhood. Recently, they started offering overnight parking which is not covered by their Conditional Use Permit (CUP). Here is an excerpt from an April 15 article in the Press Democrat: Parking at the fairgrounds will end April 30, …..Anyone who needs a place to park during the transition can use the Homeless Services Center on Morgan Street, which can accommodate 45 vehicles, Holmes said.

As of last week the City had not been contacted by Catholic Charities regarding this change to their CUP.Typically, an application for change of service would be filed with the city and a neighborhood meeting held prior to a new service being approved and added to the CUP by the city.

Please attend this meeting for more information and/or to provide input.
