Historical Society of Santa Rosa (Free) Webinar – May 20th, 6-7:30pm
STORIES OF THE PAST REVEALED: A VIRTUAL STROLL THROUGH THE SANTA ROSA RURAL CEMETERY
The Santa Rosa Rural Cemetery was established in 1854 and is Santa Rosa’s oldest cemetery, with more than 5,500 burials. Its 17 acres are a local landmark in the heart of Santa Rosa, holding innumerable stories of early Santa Rosans.
Please join the Historical Society of Santa Rosa and local historian Bill Montgomery to stroll virtually through the cemetery. You’ll learn about interesting people buried at the Rural Cemetery or related to early Santa Rosa, including the town’s first doctor, a friend of John Brown, and many others! You’ll also hear about early Santa Rosa residents’ connections to historic events including the Civil War and the 1906 earthquake.
