Traffic Alert: Ironman This Saturday

Our neighborhood will be affected- so please take note.

On Saturday, July 28, 2018, the City of Santa Rosa and Santa Rosa Metro Chamber are co-hosting the second annual IRONMAN Santa Rosa 70.3 triathlon. The event will bring approximately 2,800 athletes and their support teams to Sonoma County where they will swim in Lake Sonoma, bike to downtown Santa Rosa, run the Santa Rosa Creek Trail system, then finish at Courthouse Square in downtown Santa Rosa while covering 70.3 miles. The purpose of this letter is to provide specific information to residents of your neighborhood so you’re your Saturday plans and routes may be adjusted accordingly. IN YOUR NEIGHBORHOOD: • Road closures and detours will be in place from 8:00 AM to approximately 2:00 PM. • You will not be able to cross W. 9 th Street heading north or south • B Street will have limited access. • Residents are encouraged to park on 8th Street or 7th Street west of the race course. • Morgan Street will NOT BE ALLOWED to exit onto W. 9th • Residents on Morgan Street can exit and access their homes via 7th Street, traffic control will allow two-way traffic flow along the block between 9th Street and 7th Street. • NO PARKING will be allowed on the WEST SIDE of A Street on race day. • Residents on the East side of A Street will be able to exit their homes and HEAD NORTH then WEST or use 8th Street if they are south of 8th Street. • To enter or exit the neighborhood, residents should use 8 th Street or 7 th Street for Morgan Street residents. • The City will post signage the week of July 23rd noting where parking will not be allowed from 6:00 AM to 6:00 PM on race day (July 28).

The Zoning Administrator will hold a public meeting to decide whether to approve or disapprove the Landmark Alteration application on August 2, 2018, at or after 10:30 a.m. in Room 7, City Hall, 100 Santa Rosa Avenue, Santa Rosa. The public is invited to attend and/or comment at the public meeting. A more formal public hearing (includes a public hearing notice in the Press Democrat and a public hearing sign posted on the project site) will be held only if a written request from a member of the public directed to the Zoning Administrator is received by August 1, 2018.

Said applicant and applicable information are on file in the Planning & Economic Development Department Room 3, City Hall, 100 Santa Rosa Avenue and available for public inspection. The Department is open Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Wednesdays from 10:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., and Fridays from 8:00 a.m. to Noon.

The decision of the Zoning Administrator is subject to appeal within ten (10) calendar days from the date of approval or denial. In the event the end of the appeal period falls on a non-workday, the appeal period shall be extended to include the next business day.
