Permit Parking Update: Morgan Street and A Street
There is currently a push to obtain permit parking along Morgan Street and A Street. This is one possible solution to the amount of car camping going on in the area. It also, may be a wise move with the SMART train starting service in the next year which may create a greater volume of non-residents parking in the neighborhood. In order for permit parking to be established on these streets, 60% of the residents on each street must sign a petition stating their support. Several neighbors will be circulating these petitions shortly.
Permit Parking Details:
Parking permits are $20 each/year. Each single-family dwelling can purchase up to three permits. Each apartment, condo, townhouse, or granny unit can purchase 1 permit/unit. Permits can be shared with friends and family. Once permit parking is established on a street, the city’s Parking Department will cite any drivers parking for over 2 hours between 8am and 6pm, Monday-Saturday. For more information visit:

This is a follow up to the first Study Session, held May 19, 2015, where the City Council reviewed the variety of City and Community’s homeless services and related responses. Wed., June 10th 6-7pm: Meeting on Permit Parking for Morgan Street
This is a follow-up meeting to our last neighborhood meeting with Catholic Charities with regards to parking and speed bumps on Morgan Street. Scheduled is a presentation and discussion on options in regards to getting time-limited or permitted parking on Morgan Street . Representatives from the City and SRPD will be available.
Location: Catholic Charities Family Service Center (465 A Street).
Note: that this is in addition to our regular neighborhood meetings with Catholic Charities, and will be focused on discussion of parking options and providing info on traffic calming guidelines for Morgan Street.
