The mission of COPE is to help residents, families, and neighborhoods become and remain better prepared to respond to and recover from emergency situations. This includes developing individual response plans, maintaining individual emergency supply kits, and outreaching to neighborhoods in the community. To foster this effort, the City of Santa Rosa provides training and a guide for setting up COPE Neighborhood Teams, “How to COPE with Emergencies” in English and Spanish.

The City of Santa Rosa is now recruiting leaders in all parts of the city to help train and prepare their neighbors, so that we can all COPE a little better with disasters that may disrupt our lives, such as earthquake, fire, flood, and landslide. Each block leader is only responsible for 5 to 20 homes.

We already have neighbors who have volunteered to organize these blocks in the St. Rose neighborhood:

  • A Street
  • Lincoln  Street
  • 8th Street
  • 10th Street

They will be reaching out to families on these streets with details on the COPE program.

If you would like to volunteer to do the same for these remaining streets:

  • B Street
  • Klute Street
  • Morgan Street
  • Washington Street

please let Roy Raymond know at: royaraymond@yahoo.com or 568-1058.
