Thursday, June 19, 5-8pm, Opening Reception – Calabi Gallery
Calabi Gallery features an eclectic collection of unusual antique, modern and contemporary art with a focus on postwar west coast modernism. Please join us for an opening reception 5-8pm. Our 2014 “Summer Selection” will include our usual mixture of new work from our gallery artists, new acquisitions and consignments of vintage works, and selections from our archives. We have added some wonderful new artists to our roster and have also brought in some very interesting older paintings.

Thursday, June 19, 7:00pm – Siberian Identity with Dr. Ian Campbell

Dr. Ian Campbell, Professor of History at UC Davis will speak about Russian expansion and Siberian identity. Campbell is a historian of pre-revolutionary Russia and an expert on Russian imperial power, particularly as it relates to Central Asia. His lecture will focus on Russian encounters, attitudes and experiences during the conquest of Siberia in the 16th and 17th centuries, as well as the complexities of Siberian identity and the connections to Fort Ross.
Members $7.50 / Non-members: $10.00

(Ages 5 to adult)- Build a toy boat and race it down the shallow rapids. Wear shoes that can get wet (no sandals). Laughs and prizes, everyone is a winner! Don’t have time to build a boat? Materials and assistance will be available that morning to craft your own vessel. Peggy Sue Cruise

June 14th, 6 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.- Saturday Peggy Sue’s All-American Cruise. A car show for all car enthusiasts with American made models dating from the early 1900′s to 1976. Peggy Sue’s All-American Cruise is Sonoma County’s largest car show. Hotrods, Roadsters and Customs that not only take you back in time but shows the workmanship and dedication it takes to recreate any one of these classic cars or trucks. These beautiful cars can be seen in a parade from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. peggysuescruise.com      Location: Downtown Santa Rosa- 4th & 5th Streets.

June 15th, Sunday 9 a.m.- 4p.m.- Father’s Day 20th Anniversary “Show & Shine” Car Show. Drinks, food, music, entertainment, raffles and contests. Trophy Classes: Stock, Hot Rod, Trucks, Motorcycle, People’s Choice, Best Rat Rod, Best Engine and Best Flames. Free Spectator Admission.   Location: Julliard Park.

510 B Street. Built in 1913. Craftsman style. Historic name: Jacobs House. the house was built by Mr. Jacobs for his family. Mr. Jacobs owned an electrical store on B Street and was a prominent member of the Elks club. Their daughter, Hati, donated the bells at Santa Rosa Junior College.
